View Full Version : Electronics: WTB SBEC for 92 ramcharger

Hi everone, I have a buddy whose ramcharger has been acting up lately and it seems to be the ECU. I would like to help him out with a replacement, and I'm hoping someone here has one. The truck's got a 318 and the p/n on the current sbec is: 56027141. Please hook me up and help me help someone out :).

Paypal is at the ready. Or if you want some parts I've recently found that I have a whole buttload more stuff hanging around (like 3 heads, etc, etc). I can always do a cal or 3, socket a smec/LM, hook you up with a usb datalog adapter, whatever. Just let me know what it is you want for the sbec.

Finding one specifically for a 92 Ramcharger is going to be a hard find. If it has a Magnum motor in it, one from a Dakota, Ram or Ram Van will probably run it. You might have better luck searching those boards.

I didn't even know they were still making those into the 90's.

Is it a TBI LA engine, or a MPI Magnum engine? '92 was the change-over year, Magnum came out in mid-92. Also, is it auto or 5-spd?

MPI, it' a auto w/ 4wd. Sorry, I should have included that. I'm really hoping to find one from a Ram truck (like Kelly said). Even if someone has something close I may even consider socketing it and swapping the eeprom over.

Anyone? Bueller? It doesn't have to be from a ramcharger specifically, just something auto,4x4 with a 318, I'll move the chip if I have to.

I found a 93 ramcharger 4x4 318 magnum with the computer still in it. I forgot to get the part number but if it will work I can pull it.

it came from a cash for clunker trade it so it worked.

If the one above this post doesn't pan out then I may have you do that. I did check 3 or so ram truck forums but there were like 10 posts in their classified sections so I didn't want to waste my time subscribing (and getting spam) on such dead forums. Google didn't turn up any of those in the 1st page, so I didn't check them. Thanks

Yeah hopefiully that 93 box works.
