North Alabama Chapter??

I see ther is alot if cars in this area didn't know if anyone would like to get togather..

The Mid-South chapter used to cover Alabama and Tennessee. But that chapter seems to have vanished because of lack of interest. As it was set up, there were chapter contacts in Nashville TN, Memphis TN, and near Birmingham AL.

We used to have a minimum number of local folks required to have a chapter in an area, but we don't really impose that rule anymore.

SDAC and its chapters are about people getting together. So the best way to judge whether a chapter could be a good thing in your area is to plan a meeting for those that have said they are interested. Have a couple meetings to judge who is really serious about having a chapter and being active in it.

When you get to the point you and the others feel you are ready to form an SDAC chapter, decide who is going to head the chapter up, and what you want to call the chapter (Alabama SDAC, or whatever). Then at the very minimum, the person that heads up the chapter must join SDAC if he is not already a member.

We require that leaders or officers in SDAC chapters maintain active membership in SDAC. We also expect those officers or leaders to encourage others in their area to join SDAC.

Then that person can contact me about getting the chapter paperwork started. The chapter paperwork recognizes your chapter as being a part of the SDAC family, and grants permission to use the logos and marks of SDAC and Shelby, and spells out the relationship between SDAC, Shelby, and the chapter.

It is still family friendly, they have a large parking lot that is usually empty (so we can fix whoever breaks down), Mark and I are buddies with the owner,it is easy to get to for anyone from out of town, and most importatntly they serve beer! I bet we could actually make this group official with how many of us get together on a weekly basis, throw in a few more from out of town or that we just don't know about, and we have a pretty big group of people. I hope whoever has the 90 vnt shadow I have seen around, but can't ever seem to find when i have time to follow turns up.

That could of been me. I have a silver one. Although it hasn't ran in a couple of years. The body has a ton of rust on it. I plan on using the car to help fixup the 89 CSX I have.

This is going to be a get together and meet everybody and to guage the interest in having a SDAC Chapter in North alabama. This needs to be also family friendly, as alot of us have kids and want them to be interested in what there parents are into. As some of you know, we went to a show in New Hope 2 months ago and we had 8 cars out there and alot of people would come over to us and all of them had stories of either they had one or a buddy of theirs had one and brought back memories. So we are hoping that we can have just as many, if not more, show up to see if we could have the largest SDAC chapter in the US!! Even if it's a project or a finished project, come on out and see what it is all about!! Cya there, if my car makes it...:confused:

I am intereted in a SDAC chapter in Tenn and Alabama.   I live in Smyrna, TN. I bought my 87 GLSH in 1991 and have been a member of SDAC since then.  I have owned three Rampages, a 92 RT, a 89 Lebaron Convertable and a 85 Shelby Charger.  I still own the GHLS.  Would like to know about a meeting and has a date and location been set.  J. Hey guy's sorry I had to miss the first meet up, but my grandfather is not doing well in St. Louis and I took off that week to go see him. Anyway I talked to Mike and will just throw out there the idea of a cook out/get together at my house some time this month. We could do it any Saturday or Sunday everyone's cool with.
