View Full Version : Roller or slider cam? How do you tell?
Well? I figured roller cams meant the rocker arms had rollers on them, and sliders just hit the rocker dead on with no rollers. Is this correct?
Thanks,

You are correct, the Roller Cams have followers with a rolling bearing built into them, they are underneath the cam, on the head. Slider cams have iron folowers.
If I recall correctly, Slider cams have wider lobes than Roller cams...

So basically what cars did the slider cams come on? Out of all our fleet of TD's I haven't seen one that has a slider.

The transition year was '88 so everything prior was a slider, everything after was a roller... 88's are supposed to be rollers, but i'm sure there are exceptions...
