I had a run in with a "Bullit" Mustang on 476 this after noon. After several contests from 60-65mph on up to about 120, the SRT-4 was undefeated. That wasn't suprising. What was suprising was exactly HOW MUCH of an advantage I had. I don't know what was done to the Mustang, but it had a catback at the very least.

I believe the Bullit is just an appearance package.

Bullit had 5 hp on the stock GT's. It's still funny, The 2 cars weigh about the same and rthe 4 popper pulls..

I had a fun experience with one of the Saleen Mustangs while tooling around in Sledgehammer, back before the car was named such. It prompted me to name the car "Saleen Solution." The Mustang driver looked a bit flabbergasted at losing to a Lebaron.

I believe the Bullit is just an appearance package.

Actually,

"To call Bullitt an appearance package is both unfair and incorrect. Under the hood, the 4.6L, two-valve Ford has been treated to a new upper intake manifold and underdrive pulleys, as well as dual 57mm throttle bodies (replacing the stock GT’s single 65mm unit and cribbed from the Lightning) for better low-end response. The exhaust has been tuned to give 20 percent better flow, as well to sound more like McQueen’s movie ride (though the original source for the sound remains apocryphal). "
