Putting it in and hmmmmmmm, no one mentioned having to shim the unit over, by over 1/2 inch at the bearing? Anyone ran into this?

Frank, bearing preload, NOT the spacer. Actually, ahem, got a little ahead of myself but It looks like I might need two or 3 stock shims to get the proper bearing preload. Just got back from hockey so back to grinding I go, :(

Well, I am sick of grinding but most of it is done. I carefully hand ground a spacer down so I have a .050" shim and a .044" shim, that was a tad loose so I cut up and used the tin deflector shield-perfect. NOw just reassembling it.

All buttoned up, test fit the cover and finally, something goes my way, it just touches. A hammer and now have clearance. Woo hoo, she's almost done.

So two things I never want to do again, install an OBX into a A413 and put an larger IC into a minivan and keep the a/c, :p
