View Full Version : New Challenger with ugly scoop?

I saw a blue Challenger going through town today with a scoop that looked to be glued to the hood and of the same style as the recent Bullitt. I think the stock scoop deals were blacked out too. It looked horrible. This isn't a factory thing is it?

No, and I didn't have my actual camera on me so I could take one either. Honestly, it is still nice to see one around here. We don't get too many cool cars around town.

Brian just recently got a cell phone. Let's give him time to ramp up, shall we? :)

Lund makes a lot of tacky add-on products. Might have been one of their items. Shame, see a lot of nice cars with cheap add-on doo-dads.

The only genuine Mopar product for the hood is the entire T/A style hood.

That is almost exactly what it looked like, although that one looks much better on that hood.

Thanks for confirming that the TA hood is the only one offered. That's what I thought after doing some brief internet researching, but I wasn't sure.

If the car was blue, it was probably the classic edition which comes with a different hood too.

Nevermind, googled it, and I guess it does not have a scoop. There is a Mopar one available, however, that has a scoop. Here is a pic.

It could have been the classic, but this scoop was not what the classic hood consists of.

Also, my mother made me take the phone to keep in the car. I don't think it works right though, as it took me a good deal of time to place a call to Jon. I think it may be defective.

Was it plugged into the wall? :p

No, perhaps that's why I've been having trouble.

There is a company doing aftermarket shaker hood for the LY/LX cars, perhaps that was it?

It was the shaker style, but it sure did look like it was just stuck on the hood. It passed me by while I was walking the dog so I got a decent look at it I would think.

You did, but the show car pic you posted wasn't the hood the general masses can buy. The one available for sale is the one in the pic I posted which is out of the Mopar catalog.

My mistake. I didn't notice that the one on the Big Daddy Challenger wasn't the EXACT one that's in the Mopar catalog. Hopefully it didn't confuse anyone.
