Posting on both boards because i'm heading to the JY and need info asap.

92 dodge shadow witha 2.5 TBI in it. Cam snapped under the oil cap, and I am wondering what all cams will work from the JY for it.

If you are feeling spunky the 88s are rollers also. The 2.2 88tbi cams is square tooth, though it is also more aggressive. They both have different cam gears than the newer cams.

The cam snapped in the same place on my '90 Daytona a couple years back when I still drove it...what a bummer haha. But yeah, any TBI roller cam should work for you.

could the timing belt have been a hair too tight??

It seems like everybody that snaps a cam (myslef included) ends up snapping them right below the oil fill cap. I would guess the timing belt was too tight.

When the cam snapped on my Shadow ES, I replaced the cam with a new '89 turbo roller from Relentless Racing. It was fine after that, no need for align boring the head or resurfacing. The cam that snapped was an '88 TBI roller I got from the junkyard.

That or the head is warped. Luckily, I have never snapped one, YET,

i have had to replace many cams on mopars i think this is there downside it is a weak spot any cam other then the turbos should work if it is a tbi and it is a 2.2 or 2.5 turbo cams are different

Or the cam caps are not torqued down correctly.
