Well I'm starting project RATTRAP! some might remember i pick up a ice racer, i had my eye on for 10 year. The previous owner built it for ice racing but the car had a miss fire that he couldn't get fixed so it got parked it and after 9 years of sitting. i struck a deal, and pick it up for 300 bones!

I was going to part the car out, i wanted the 2.5 turbo motor that was under the hood , after towing the car to Friends home to pull the motor. we inspected the car found the frame ,floor straight and rust free not something you dint find around these parts any more fenders and doors dented for racing. well i replaced the fuel pump and the injectors so we could check the motors condition. I was bad, i drove it for a laugh and and was impressed. it was at this time i blew a diff in my gtc. so i put plates on it and now i m hooked again. So i decided to build a glh for racing again. but this ones a clone .

Well thank god the windsheild had to be replaced . because there would have been no way the dash would have come out with the rollcage in place .

Looking good! You converted the hubs to 5 bolt, and I think I remember you saying it has rear wheel disks, which I plan to do this winter.
That's a big blue bottle you have there in the back, gonna have to pay my buddy a visit and pick up his, as he sayed I can use it. :eyebrows:
Maybe it will help spool my HX35 with the 12cm housing.:D

I pick up some down/flex pipes for my Holset 3.5 " and 4" i really wont to go with the 4" but this is a L body , they are stainless and smooth inside .

That 4" makes your Holset looks small! Lower Mainland cars must have a Piston Bully flexpipe.;)

You need one on the top, one on the bottom. Can you get tight radius 4"?

bakes
08-20-2009, 01:47 AM
yes i need a two tight 90#s and a 45# and 8 feet of sewer pipe.

boost geek
08-20-2009, 01:50 AM
Should check Lordco if they carry 4" similar to the tight radius 3" that I have. That piece alone in 3" was $23.

Well it has been a while for Rattrap she was put into mothball when i blew the motor in my LS now i have the Ls motor up and running and some time to get back on her and build up the spare motor and get her to the track this year
So today i pulled Stock 2.5 head and turbo and removed the 3 month old used exhaust system.
Then i mocked up the new ported head and Holset turbo in the car to check clearances and get ready to weld up the new 4" turbo back exhaust
It feels good to get back working on her.
Here are the latest Pics

Looking good! You got a bit of welding ahead of you, sure you gonna fit a p.s. pump in there with a 4" d.p.? Also, a 3.3 elbow intake, eh? Nice how the seam on the rear of the intake lines up with the elbow, looks stock. :eyebrows:

I got back to working on it today after a couple of months off from it, pulled the old doors off so the body/ paint work can be done in all the door jams . also worked on the 4 " exhaust getting it to go over the axle with clearance. also did some mock up under the hood before i pull the whole drive train.
