I've been telling my son we would climb the mountains about 10 miles from our house "All the way to the top":D They are only 3800 feet of elevation change and I've been to the top a few times on my Bro's dual sport bikes but never in a four wheel rig. The air suspension is kick a$$, at the base of the mountain just flick the switch to off road mode and it raises the air struts 9.5" with the onboard compressor:thumb: Sweet. We climbed the first 3500' in standard 4 high, then it got a little more challenging and rocky near the top so I switched the transfer case to 4 low and locked the center diff. All was good till I decided to show off a little for him and high centered it:o Here's a pic or two with the tires uselessly dug in and sitting on the frame rails:( Getting it out was a snap though, I just 'lowered' the suspension to standard hieght, put some rocks under the wheels and cranked it back up again which lifted off the rails, backed it down and we were on our way. We stopped for a shot or two by the antenna array to prove to his sister that we went all the way to the top.

I see the picture of you and I was like " who the hell is that guy?" then I imagined you with a beer in your hand.." Ahh, now he looks familiar".

hehe crazy city dweller's think they're highway rig can off-road :) Go try the off-road park out off Ortega highway. Go to Lake Smellsomemore, go to the top of Ortega and turn left, take that road for 10-15 miles across the jumps and it should turn to dirt and it's on the left.

Air ride is better than a winch. A winch wants to nag you about tearing up your rig and that you should be taking her to some fancy restaurant.

Did it destroy your step bars?

Side steps took a beating but they are coming off of there in a hurry, I never really liked them much plus, they were what high centered us:mad: The mounts hang down antoehr 3" below them under the rig and they are what was really dug in!

840, those are from trees dragging down the paint along the trail but the trees just deposited resin or light sap or something that the dust clung to, they washed right off:)

You city folk need to be careful up in the hills. Best leave that type of activity to the big boys and their toys.

That air suspension is not something I expected from that vehicle. Way cool.

Admittedly, I need some real tires before I try any serious offroading again. Lets head up the mountain sometime, I'll bring a towstrap for whoever needs it first:D I'm Leaning twards the Pirelli Scorpion ATR's 265/60/18's Though lots of Treg's are having good luck with Goodyear Silent Armors. Never thought I'd buy another set of Goodyears again.:o
