Ok...so i'm redoing my interior and I'm coming up with some questions i was hoping some people on here might be able to help me with

First of all....is the stuff pictured below just sound deadening material...or something more? I'm installing new sound deadening material...and i'll just rip it out if it is, but i don't want to take it out if its doing more than just reducing the noise. I can't just stack on top as the panels wont fit anymore...

Also...does anybody know where i can get a molded carpet for an 89 Daytona...preferablly the heavy kind. Way back in 02 i ordered a new carpet, and it looks like it will fit, but it will take some modifications (and it doesn't look as nice underneath). any direction is appreciated->

Old Top & Bottom (its dirty!!)

Thanks for any help!

That crap over the wheel wells is there to keep the rocks and debris that hit the wheel well from turning it into a big drum. It can be replaced with a more modern sound proofing.

What brand is that carpet ? It looks flimsey and not very well made

I have had good luck with this company. They will send you a free sample of carpet to make sure it matches the original. If you add "Mass Backing" that duplicates the heavy backing like it came from the factory.

Ahhh, awesome. I was hoping it was just sound proofing, but i wasn't 100% sure it didn't serve some other purpose. I'm pretty sure the stuff i got is better, i'll just keep the old stuff after i remove it, just in case....

I can't remember the brand, bought it a few years back...but i definetly agree on the crapiness of it....i was considering putting the original back in, but its so dirty figured i'd give a search for a new one at least the old college try.

Yeah, they mold the carpet like the original, although you will have to trim it here and there to get a exact fit. They purposely cut it slight oversize so you can make it fit perfect. You also have to cut out stuff like seat belt bolt holes and areas around the console.

That one that you bought before...no offense...it looks like crap. You might able to use your old new carpet to make pieces to replace the carpeting on the sides of the console if the color matches your new replacement carpeting.

The one from before is definetly CRAP. No doubt about it.

Anybody know if the Ultra Plush is worth the extra 60 bucks? I'm figuring i'm not going to see much of this carpet, heck if i put mats in i'm not going to see almost any of it. Anybody know if its worth it? or not/

I would like to know this as well. I bought a so called molded carpet from ACC and it's just flimsy crap as well. So, I need some new carpet and wanted to know if the Ultra Plush was worth the money since we have to pay another $60 for the heavy backing as well.
