Id like to get a group of guys together to invade Test and Tune one sunday in August. Two dates possible, I will poll them available, either Aug2 and Aug 16th. Lets see if we can get a more than 3 ppl this time. maybe we'll go someplace for dinner or something that night after racing, who knows.

Anyone that hasn't been to Island Dragway.....I would recomend against it. Went there for a private rental and prep sucked even though it was paid for, also it has a SHORT shut down area for those with fast cars, be ready on the big end. It also still only has GUARD RAILS!!!
Tech is very strict as well, be prepared.

the track is well prepped for test and tune, its 35$ and there are some fast cars that have no problem shutting down and i'm talking 7sec cars. but to each their own, i like going on test and tune because i'l stil get 3-5 runs and get to line up against things that i'd appreciate beating. i dont know what you call strict for tech inspect, they check to see your helmet is current 2005snell, if its not factory turbo they want a fire jacket ( i always says its factory) and if the car has lexan and what they check to make sure it wont fly apart. i never had any problem with tech inspect there at all.

9 - 10 second cars on any other track NEVER pull chutes. The one time I was there the prep was only average. I think I was cutting 1.9s all day. Would be a nice day to hang out and run with the group but theres better tracks around to run big numbers at.

you rental must of had bad luck. bruce and i go a lot they vht the crap out of it .at cecil i leave at 5800 rpm i have to leave at 6100 rpm at island it hooks that good :thumb:

myself and CSXT802 made 4 passes each today before we decided that waiting in 90degrees in the staging lanes was enough and called it a day. times will be posted if Darren wants to show off.

90 degrees is being kind. I think it was between 95 - 100 deg. Not the best drag racing weather thats for sure. As for my times we know they suck, but thats what I get for drag racing once every 6 years.:( I'll post my slips once I scan them in.

i guess i can scan mine in too just for kicks, we know current condition of my motor and what it looked like after each pass.

here were my should be last time passes on this motor before new shortblock goes in. oil was all over the motor coming out the oil filler cap even with a catch can after each pass. can only imagine how much boost was getting into the crankcase. these were my 2 best passes. Darren and I basically ran same times our last passes 14.395 @ 107.22 and Darrens was 14.395 @ 107.40. hope he posts his slip. my passes are the 9222 car

Slicks what the hell are those.........lol Hell couldn't get my car out of the hole with out bogging it. This was my first time using drag radials.

holy F.ck. 14.3@107 with a 2.4 60ft?? Shift faster! Need to work on your launch too but still should of been a 14.0 or so with some good quick shifting. You guys are both making good power just need to work on the driving.

Tell me about it my third run was 14.41 @ 108.64 with a 2.65 60 ft.:confused:

Shifting isnt my problem other than from start to 60ft, my motor is puking, its coming out in the next few weeks, im low on compression and im losing a good about of oil from blow by

I'm not very proud of ET or 60 ft. But the MPH puts a smile on my face. My little 8 valve is making some power. I just need to figure how to get this thing out of the hole. Dam rookie racers.
