I'm looking for a brace that bolts to the front of the lower rad support on the 5spd 87 and 88 Shelby Z's. There's about 10 sheet metal screws through it and two studs on the ends. It's kind of C channel shaped. Let me know what you have.

thanks!

1.25" tall shallow c-channel? was it '87-'88 only?

I might have one from my old 89 Daytona Shelby. I'll check next time I'm out back.

No it's like 3" wide and the ribs on the outside are only like .250" tall. I don't know if the 89's got them as well.

I'll try and snap a pic. I assume it's to brace up the lower rad support.

Thanks JCK, It's about 3 ft long or so and it's on the front side of the lower rad support, not the engine side.

I know what your talking about, I welded my intercooler brackets too that, and bolted it back on. I dont think it has any structural purpose. My car is a 89, so Im pretty sure all the cars have them...but the purpose..Im not really sure off.

Thanks for the pic, there it is. Cool to know it's on the 89 as well. I've seen the rad support twist and crack where the frame rails meet it. So, anyone got one they want to sell off a parts car or something?

I found one off either my 89 or 91 Daytona Shelby. I'm not sure the best way to ship it, but how about $8 plus shipping? I think I could make a replacement for around that price. It's black, even though it came off a blue car. Let me know your zip code and I can calculate shipping.
