'87 or '88 CSX near Columbus, Indiana

Last week I saw a '87 or '88 CSX heading North on I-65 near Columbus,
Indiana. They came up from behind and passed. I waved as they went
by. I was in my Red Dodge Ram Sport. The CSX was black with the blue
and silver stripes on the bottom and had the Shelby decal across the
windshield.


Was that anybody here on the forum?

Black would be '87... and my favorite :) :thumb:

The way I remember it is all '87's were black, all '88's were white... of course there may be an exception or two as with every Shelby Dodge... one exception, sort of, is that some of the black '87's were also used as "Thrifty" fleet cars... I have one, #726... looks like any other '87.

it might have been from new castle number 480 resides here its kind of rough paint wise but it is a daily driver

I just remembered that the car had Illinois plates.

There are reported that a limited amount of t2 black 88 csx's were built.
I have the data sheet somewhere and a brochure.

were they late 87 builds or in with the regular 88 run?

IIR they were '87's that did not get sold that got worked into the Thifty rental program.
