bad lifters?

I am rebuilding a head. I am not sure if the lifters are bad or not. There are like 3 of them that compress pretty easy when I push on them. The others, no matter how hard I try, I can't get them to compress....

Question

Do I need new lifters? How are they supposed to behave?

Turbovanman: I have found if the lifter came out of a running engine, and sat, even for months, and was good, you can't push it down. If you can push it down, its junk. If you have a stock cam, just use the PT lifters, mucho better design.

+1 on just dropping in PT lifters. Way way better.
