Hey all, I'm new to this forum, but was hoping someone here might have some idea/experience with the problem I'm having. A few months ago I sold my old Trans Am and bought a 1986 Daytona Turbo Z, I'm completely in love with it, however I've never had turbo before and lately it's had a strange problem with the turbo, if I give the car too much gas, the turbo engages but the car shifts immediately to neutral. If I'm on the highway, and slowly accelerate, the turbo seems to work fine boosting me up to 60, 70, 80, etc. But only if I accelerate slowly, if I really give it gas it shifts to neutral. I'm broke at the moment so I'd rather find out what's wrong or how much it might cost to fix before I bring it to some con-artist dealer. :D
