For Sale: 87 CSX
Car is in pretty rough shape due to the previous owner parking a truck on top of it. I thought I would see if anyone would want to tackle this resurrection. I already have enough on my plate and it is going to be scrapped if nobody steps up to the plate.

The Bad:

Interior smells like a hobo
Carpet is shot
Front seats are ripped
Did I say it smells like a hobo, maybe even a dead hobo
Some D.B. parked a truck on top of it and it doesn't have a straight panel on it.
Cracked grill
ect.ect.ect. see pictures.

The Good:
Its a CSX!
Shelby steering wheel, Centurions, and all other Shelby goodies except the right door still plate and dash plaque.
Not rusty
I'm sure I'm missing something else.......
See Pictures::thumb:

Would make a great 24hrs of lemons project!

Oh yeah Located in Beaverton Oregon and I have the title.
Price......$$$$$Depending on how much of the Shelby stuff you want. Shell alone $150

Looks like it'll live on in a number of other TMs....

Kinda like an organ donor, you've managed to keep it on lifesupport long enough for others to carry on!:thumb:

That would make a great patch panel donor for someone who needs some non rotten floor pan material :thumb:

what do the taillights look like ? d-side one looks cracked but maybe its just the picture. I'd be interested in both or one/other if there not damaged.

To everyone with interest in parts, thanks I'll let you know when it is going to get parted out. I'm hoping that someone wants to save it.

I like your thinking Doug:hail: Good effort to save one, to me it looks like less work than some midwest 'replace the whole floorpan' resto's that are currently in progress. Your CSX is perfect underneath:)

I suppose if the damage is limited to replaceable panels and isn't structurally tweaked all to to hell... Maybe it wouldn't be that hard to fix it, but if the body needs to be straightened, well, I don't think it'll be worth much even after all the work and even then, it may never be "right". All that said, I'm all for saving it, so long as I don't have to be the one to do it!:D

The same CSX that I got off craigslist and seen on this thread. http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=36894

The car is just cosmetically dented I don't see where there was any damage that would cause it to be straightened. It is just going to take time $$$. I'm giving it two weeks and then it get parted.

This car is interesting..... Do you think it's a dealer painted car like Alan's Charger?.... Would be nice to know the history on that one.....

I haven't figured this one out yet for myself either. It has all the Shelby specific parts but it was missing the dash plaque when I got to it. Nobody can tell me that this is a real Shelby from the vin. It has the sticker under the drivers door, the Mobil One badge in the engine compartment. Has the Shelby windshield sticker, no idea! The red was a quality paint job done right. Not what I'm use to seeing. The world may never know about this one. Is there a build sheet in these cars? I've never found one and I've torn a few apart.

I hear they are sometimes under the carpet in the rear passenger side.

Don't go under the carpet, I know how that thing smells, or get a SCUBA tank and protective gear. That car gave your garage a bit of a funk smell for a while... :D

Just an update, car is#229 sold new from the same dealer as Alan's GLHS so there is a good chance the dealer did the red/back paint job.

Dave,

I kind of figured that.... The color is so close to Alan's car that it seemed pretty likely. I wish I had a place to put it. It's rarer than any 87 CSX's since it was a dealer painted one. I wonder besides Alan's S and this car how many more did they do?

I could probably find space for it, just don't have time to go get it or money in the play budget to pay for the car and shipping.
