I am pretty sure that if you run the HG that is for the cross drilled head, you will be OK to mix and match.

You run the 005 HG on a crosdrilled block with a non-cross drilled head.

What happens if you run a crossdrilled block with a crossdrilled gasket on a non-crossdrilled head?

the only reason why they went to a cross drilled head was to cool the head down a little between the cylinders i'm using a 1987 non cross drilled on mine and i drilled it out using a 1/8 dill bit to make it a crossdrilled but if you do be very carefull because if you drill it you could damage the head don't drill streight but about a 37 degree angle from the center pointing back toward the out side towards the the intake not the intake valve. Most headsets come with gaskets with the hole allready in them even though you tell them it is for a non- cross drilled head this is only to save the manufactor a little time to make more easier
