I'm trying to stay away from solvents and oil as the car is down to the primer now, but any ideas on trying to get this stuff off? My wifes hair dryer doesn't have the spunk, and we can't find my dads heat gun, and razor blades and sandpaper aren't working for the 50 or so feet of this stuff I have to get off (think body mouldings, 3 pieces per moulding, on both pieces as its the foam that usually separates).

3M also makes a pad you can put on a drill that removes that stuff, pin strips too,

Very interesting - I'll have to find that. I searched on a couple other sites and they didn't have that listed as a fix.

They look like this and are call pinstripe erasers. They work pretty good.

+100 on the eraser wheel. Just dont go too fast or you will burn through your paint.

the eraser wheel works great, its the only thing i would suggest to use, plus if you do it right you wont hurt the paint/primer :thumb: you cant loose

Thanks all - I'm not worried about the paint, I went to town the other day with 120 and a DA the other day on the whole car, but the tape laughs at sandpaper. I need to get it off the trim too, so that will be good. Like I said, I didn't want to use WD-40 as I will be painting it in a week or so, and the primer may absorb the oil.

gotcha. If the car is down to the primer, what problem is it to shoot a spot of primer over if whatever solvent you use to take the tape off leaves residue?

i hate this stuff it sticks to louver brackets so well but it wont stuck to the glass well enough
and every week i was redoing the same bracket
but anyhow i used a tiny screwdriver and a razor with some sticker remover i got at auto zone
but that probably not how u want to go about removing it
