I thought at one point, there was an MP gasket specifically for O ringed applications. From what Barry (Miles) was telling me, that gasket is no longer available and he's trying to get his car back together for SDAC

The o-ring gasket has a larger fire ring and is ns1...005 or 006 will work but I had problems sometimes with the initial install not seating

If no 007 available install copper orings in block, CAREFULLY file just installed copper orings flat with deck, install hylomar sprayed cometic gasket, and give it hell.

P4452007, I have one from '02, never used. Package was opened when I picked it up at the dealer just to check it out. The fire rings are reversed on these gaskets, about the only visible difference.

006 Notice the cooling holes I drilled into it.

that is why SMP recommended o-ringing the head instead of the block so one could use a standard gasket

Just pull the oring wires out and run it.

Instead of the wires going into the fire ring the fire rings will compress into the grooves and give you the same basic effect. It works fine and you can use a regular head gasket because it will only compress on the outside of the ring and not cut it.
