after 260,000 miles the bench finally crapped out in my '92
Because of the extend cab I need the split seats
can't really find any nice pre-93 seats
I like the the post-93 40/20/40 seats better anyways
anyone install these in a pre-93 truck? any suggestions?
I had a local guy but them in his '85 or something
He cut down all 6 floor braces and rewelded them where they needed to go
is there any better options on bolt in brackets or mounting them all on a single rail?

thanks
Bruce

Yup, I'm putting recaro-like seats in my 1985 D100, making a box-tube frame and using the existing mounts.

What did you put in your truck?
I had a bench (not comfortable to me) so went with stock 1993 buckets.

Guess I should post some pics
I found a '99 40/20/40 split seats with the center console for $25 :eyebrows:
I rail mounted it to the bench seats brackets (whole unit moves forward and back together)
looks and feels like factory
I mounted it on 1x2 box tubing, all bolt together using all factory hardware

LOTS and LOTS of measuring
non of it is symmetrical, front to back, side to side is ALL different
but after the drive to SDAC, I mad I didn't do it sooner

My wife's larger Grandfather wore out the springs under the seat and actually broke 1 or 2 tack welds in the springs the wire itself broke in a few spots, pm'd you back the other day
