D-bag selling fake 86 cluster on E-bay

This turd is claiming it to be an 86 GLHS cluster. However, the 86 cluster has the yellow overlay not white. He claims he has seen both. Although the cluster date is Nov 1985, which would most likely be in an 86 model, not sure it would have been in an S car. :mad:

I have the same decal on a cluster in my SC. there was a thread about this awhile back. Apparently at the end of 86-beginning of 87 the decal color was changed to white. as well as the mph dropping to 125 for 87. so some of the 86 135 mph decal where white but supposedly very few.

If I'm not mistaken you could also order the decal from the Direct Connection or Shelby catalog. My old GLHT had one.

what was the source of that info? it's always been my unstanding from the literature and history that all 500 1986 GLHS speedos were identical.

Not to mention I always heard they were yellow.
If it was a direct connection sticker it should be said it is not claiming to be a original GLHS cluster. If it was an 87, it should be stated as such.....plus it should be 125 mph.
Too many "ifs" an "ors" in it to be considered genuine IMHO.

As far as if that one is a fake I could not say but it does look like the one I bought from the dealer and put in my SC. so the decal could be corret but yes it is not an orginal GLHS cluster.

Oh I didn't notice the "reserve not met" on the first one. So this is just the same cluster re-listed. He should have taken the $62. That was good money even for a real glhs cluster. I can't see a real one being worth that much anyway. The sticker is the only difference.

No factory S cars were ever sold in Canada. In the last few years, there have been a few imported only.

To be honest with you, I don't know, it was there when I bought the car almost new in 1988 from the original woman owner. It may have been a dealer option???
But it's odd that there's another one from my general area for sale on ebay at the moment.

I've owned two Canadian 87 S/C's and neither one had the sticker. If it was a factory or dealer option, it is a rare one.
