Does anyone have/or know where I can get that stupid piece of plastic pull-up ring for an 88 Daytona? I've had my car for a week, and now it doesn't go in reverse because the pull-up ring detached from the cable. I am contemplating jury-rigging it with a screw/piece of wire or something, but would rather just replace the ring. Anyone have one/know where I can get one??

If it's the white plastic piece the dealership had them last time I needed one.

Shifter knob - 04431264
Shifter retainer and decal - 04295345

Here's a thread on a good repair for your problem:
It worked for me

4443404 is the pin, strap, and ring pkg. 1987-89. I have them NOS if they are discontinued.

Thanks for the part #s and the link. I did order the part, but wound up jury rigging it. That thread was a big help, and what I ended up doing was drilling a hole through the ring near the top, and through the plastic, and stuck a paper clip through the hole, around the back of the white plastic, and looped it through the small hole at the top of the white plastic. Works fine now. My mechanic told me I was better off doing it this way for now, and at least I'll have the part just in case. Thanks to all for your help!
