My friend who's got a 800 hp PT Cruiser, 2003, put a DCR A413 but needs a tranny mount. Did PT's come with A413's or does he need a custom mount? Someone told him that he needs to find a European RHD PT for the correct mount????????

Turbo PT's have the 41TE, which I think is a variant of the a604 but I'm not sure. Pan gasket and filter are the same, I know that. Def didn't come with any a413's though.

right, but the early, non turbo ones is what he's asking about, i think.

Correct, hence the question did any PT's come with A413's, or the 31TE, ;)

no turbo pt's came with a 413, or any us build non turbo pt's. All autos are 41TE which is an update A604.

Again, I want to know if ANY N/A's came with the A413, I know the turbo's came with the 41TE.

Anyone have a pic of the 41TE mount?????

BTW, the A413 is also known as the 31TH, not 31TE. PT's never had 3 speed automatics. If the mounts from a 2nd gen Neon work use one from a 2001 automatic.

simon, no pt's here in the US got the 3 speed. none.

measure the driveshaft angle with the 4 speed and make a new mount to fit the 3 speed. if the axles plunge in the same, you got the horizontal position right.

Simon, did you ever get this figured out? I've been kicking around the idea of a built 3spd in my 03 PTGT. Any idea what he's doing for tranny control if anything at all? I'm sure there's got to be some voodoo going on changing from the 4 speed to 3 speed.

I'll ask him, he put the project aside but now he's got it running again.

Cool, thanks! Definitely interested in what he's done to make it work. I'll be throwing about as much power at the craptastic 41te as it can take real soon so I'd like to have a back up plan. It's not a matter of if but when it will go LOL
