I have, (well its my dads) an 03 dakota that when after running and you shut it off then restart it it has no power and pops through the intake. There are no codes and the ce light doesn't come on. I'm thinking maybe fuel pump but am not sure. Whats the base psi suppose to be on these trucks? Also what else should I look at? Thanks

Edit 3.9l not 3.8l

Did you mean 3.7L? If so, my thought is the cam sensor breaking up and not long enough to set a code. Shut the truck down when it happens, unplug the cam sensor and restart. It will crank for a while before starting, but it should not pop back through the intake. Needless to say, the test will turn on the check engine light.

ignition coil or crank sensor.
