I have an '88 wiring FSM, and I'm getting an '89 Daytona harness.

Is it safe to assume there was no change between the years? Colour coding is still the same?

I know computers can swap between those years. and I did plug a 89 engine harness into 88 shadow es

'89s had the newer style relays and solenoids but other than that they are pretty much the same.

If the colors and wire gauges match up its probably ok

Never assume anything with these cars though. Something always changed year to year. and I've seen disclaimers in FSM's and from personal experiance about how wiring colors and pinouts can change without notice . if one wire color was substituted for another due to a shortage of the correct wire for example.

So when I get the harness, I should compare the wire colours at the main disconnect, to the FSM? Worst case I make an 'amendment' page to keep for later reference.

Exactly :thumb:

all my FSM's are full of notes and corrections where I've found errors or discrepancies between the car and the book.
