Does any one know the size of the sway bar? I need to replace bushings on mine. Thanks.

Shelby Z should be 1-1/4" ~ 32mm if original, but they are pretty easy to measure to double check... when measuring, keep in mind that the middle (functional part of the bar) is thicker than the ends that are clamped to the LCA's.

Like grandpa used to say, "meaure twice, buy bar bushings once"

Thanks JT. I am going to measure it ths afternoon before I order bushings. I have a major power steering leak to fix too. The fluid pretty much turned the k-frame bushings to pulp and made one hell of a mess under the car from blowing fluid everywhere.

Cool. Remember not to clean all of the fluid off if you drive in the winter it will act as a rust repellant... :thumb:

The Z is my "toy" car. I have a 2001 Ram 1500 QC Off-Road truck as my winter/daily beater. The 4.10 gears loooove the gas stations!

I will be driving my Z alot this summer. I just got it in February. It still needs alot of work but hopefully will be driveable most of the time.

I measured my sway bar today. It is 1.250 on the inner frame and 1.190 on the control arm. I looked at the FWD Performance web site and all it lists is 1-1/8 and 1-1/16. Do I use the 1-1/8 set? Will the outers bee too big in that set? Or do I order one each of the 1-1/8 and 1-1/16 sets? Thanks!

Pretty sure the sets have the bigger inner bushings and smaller outer bushings like they are supposed to. Check out www.polybushings.com for more info. And if you get them From Johnny or Cindy or whoever, call and tell them you have a Shelby Z with a 1-1/4 inch bar and they should know which kit you need.

Another thing Ive noticed on the 1.25 inch bars is sometimes the bar rusts under the bushings causing it to actually be smaller where the bushings sit. I had to use the 1.125 on the wifes Spirit when I swapped the big bar in because of the rusting issue on the bar that I had. I wonder if it has an effect on the handeling?

I am not sure what others do but when you order sway bar bushings in 1-1/4" (k-frame area) AND 1-1/16" (a-arm area) you get two of each the size you need. AND I include the green poly lube.
