I was taking the center console out of my srt-4, to replace the airbag computer, and I found a pack of gum. It had a few pieces missing out of it, I checked the date and it was dated the same year as the car. As far as I can tell there is no way for that to get under the console, must have been there since assembly!

he said no way for it to get there, and i dont forsee how either by falling out wtc, as i have 2 friends with one and i have driven them and seen the inside very well and that console area and unless someone took it apart and stuck it there lol, it is most likely from assembly. Seems it anyway lol.

Of course I did!

Negative on the burnouts ghostrider. I bought new tires for it when I put it on the road. I have never done a burnout in it.:o

I used to work for GM Powertrain as a Dyno Technician. We used to randomly pull engines off the "Mark" line (454 Hi-perf and 502ci for medium duty trucks and boats) and disassemble them just to make sure the line workers were doing their job correctly. We pulled an engine off the line and found 2 work gloves in the oil pan!! Imagine the pissed off SOB who would have bought that engine for his Boat or Med duty truck. No wonder why GM is hurting so bad.

I'd regularly see liquor bottles and beer cans in cars coming down the line from the body shop

I can vouch for this. He babies his car. It made me kinda sad at first, but it's the best looking/running SRT4 I've ever seen. So keep it up! Then when you tire of it you can sell it to me, your friend, for cheap!

Really?! People used to pass them down the lines, just set them on cars and the next station would take a hit. Not surprising really.

People told me stories from when the plant first opened in the eighties. When I was there, there was just heavy partying / drinking going on. I wouldn't do someting stupid like that.
