There is an extremely clean 87 dodge shadow in the junkyard with less than 40,000 miles. The only problem is that the engine bay caught fire and burned down REALLY bad... Would the shortblock still be good or would the fire have somehow damaged it?

I would think it would still be good. Does it turn over by hand? It would have to get dang hot to damage the actual engine.

Ya, Im pretty sure its a two door... If you want them and there in good condition Ill try my best to get out there and pull them! PM me...

Soo the heat of the fire shouldnt have done much damage to the shortblock?

I would think the block itself might be ok, but the rotating assembly might be junk. Engine fires melt stuff but the fire extinguisher stuff corrodes the hell out of metals :(

Got pics? I'm a '87 2-door p-body  er :)
