So I'm raising my base pressure last night, when I go to loosen the lock nut the nut lets loose and the 7/16 box end wrench goes with it and slams into the vaccum nipple and rips it clean off.
Half the barb is now inside the fuel regulator and the other half is in the vaccum nipple. :banghead: :censored: :banghead: DAMNIT! So I hurry and get advice from Simon to see what I should do, he says get an easy out. Okay I've never heard of one. Dad says he has.
Time is now 8pm and I'm hurrying to get it done before places close. Fly out to NAPA -- closed. Advanced (spend good ol' time there), they don't have it. Fly to other end of town to AZ, aha! They have an easy out in 1/8" - 1/4". Hurry home. Dad gets it right out of the regulator.
So I call Summit Racing seeing if they have a honed out threaded male fitting. After spending 20 minutes on the phone with them, they see they have it. Drive 12 miles up there, they got the wrong part. Go to service again have him take a peak. He basically says Im SOL.
Go back home, call Cindy. No answer. grr. Call Chris at TU. He says he will call Accufab tomorrow and order some more regulators and get me some fittings. OKay kool, but I have a good portion of Friday off and I wanted to tune it with the scanner.
Maybe today pops will find the fitting so I don't have to wait for it to come from Chris.
Oh well, live and learn. Lesson learned everybody: USE A FREAKING 7/16" DEEP WELL SOCKET, NOT A WRENCH when adjusting base pressure. ;)
