My brother came down with our friend Paul with a jig he made for me to build a new header for the Talon.

I only have these pics from someone else who saw it together at the 2009 Detroit Autorama. It won Top Honors for Performance Themed Vehicle, which translated means cool race/street car/engine bay.

I built the header and intercooler here in FL, and he did the DP, plumbing etc back in MI. It needs cleaned up here and there, but considering the car went from a longblock to running in a week I give it credit.

Enjoy, comments welcome! A new stock front bumper is coming since that one was cut up for the old setup with the turbo down in the lower driver front corner and an air/air.

As little lag as possible with a turbo that size on a motor that small. :eyebrows:

why dual BOVs?

50+ psi and the cfm that motor moves, it's a good idea to have as much valve as possible to prevent popping seams on intercoolers, intakes, etc etc.

He has too much money

Only to match the two tial 44's underneath the header! ;)

See above. Although, i did the intercooler for him for a Christmas gift, and I made the collector out of scrap tubing so that saved us $342 dollars alone. :)

Nice man! I love the v-ban clamp on the collector to the exhaust housing. What turbo is that?

8valves

GT42R center section and turbine wheel, TiAL cast SS turbine housing, 81mm GT45R compressor wheel and compressor housing. 6" inlet. :) It makes GREAT noises, ha!

Here is an old video on a straight up 42R on a top mount Shearer manifold. It went 10.57 @ 142.8 mph with a 1.68 60' and went through the traps in third gear still. :)

That's on wastegate spring pressure only, 22 psi.

Found some more pics out there. It looks better off the car! The sweetest view of the header is directly from the passenger side.

The radiator is crooked. Makes me angry, but he promised to fix it the right way.

I hate to tell you this AARON, but that is NOT a turbo on your brother's car.
That is a wind tunnel to test 747's in. (dang that's HUGE).

Car sounds wicked! Love that note!

Also sounds like Aaron is commentating on the "Good Launch?"

Yup. The car was on stock axles in the rear that day so he was coming out without the anti-lag. That made for a bog/spin/break scenario. It was nice to see him at least get the car out decently well, which was that run. I was excited about that since I had driven up from school to watch it race.

He still shifts slower than molasses though! He's more comfortable with the car now though, so he's doing much better.

Looks as though it'll be back on the dyno April 1st, so I'll keep up on how it goes.
