Cool for a period correct car or to be different but otherwise why spend the extra cash for something that doesn't work as good?

Yes it will be going on a 1985 Shelby Charger. The reason that I want to go this route is no wiring change.

You could switch to a TII intake and IC and no wiring change if you leave the AIS unplugged. It really depends on your overall goals for the car...

wiring is easier than pulling the head IMHO.

:confused2: Dont need to pull the head for DC IC swap.

Bummer is you do need to pull the head to swap the intakes. I had to when I put everything on the SC.

pain in the rear to swap intakes with head on

cause the turbo and the exhaust manny has to come off before the intake :(

I need to change the turbo already and head will be off. So no problem.

Even on a log T1?

yep, the intake bolts still sit down behind the same turbo flange that blocks you from getting a blasted wrench on them.

So, I cannot remember the psi that the DC Intercooled T1 ran? Does anyone remember what psi it was without grainger valves or anything additional put in place? My dad had one, and we're making a DC intercooled car... and the one he had was a lot quicker than the 86 GLHS we have (when it had a 3.05:1 final drive tranny in it [which should be expected?])

so, what psi was it? Thanks in advanced guys

for some reason 12 pounds comes to mind, but not 100% sure.

12psi sounds right.

Steve, I do have a few of these setups around, I bought a few kits when restoring my GLH-T. I don't have any show quality intercoolers, but have a couple that are functional. You can send me a PM if your interested, just be patient as I'm not online as much as I used to be.
