When doing the conversion, should the Knock Sensor be upgraded as well to whichever LM I'm using or, is the stock one ok? I'm converting a 1985 600 using a LM from an 87 Daytona Shelby Z.

Thanks!
Paul

Do you happen to know if they can go bad? The problem I had/have with my 600 has still not been determined, yet. Actually, what caused the really low compression reading on cyl #2 and sort of lower readings on #3 and #4. I'm more concerned about making sure I don't transfer any "bad" parts. Is there any way to test the knock sensor?

im not sure if they tend to go bad alot. but...

they do break offten, at least they do for me. like when you try to pull off the connector the sensor breaks... >.<

I'd say they tend to be dead quite often. I've had a couple dead ones myself. And +1 on the breaking apart too.

+2 on the breaking apart. I would immagine that about the only way to test it would be to observe the motor pulling timing with a scanner.

They are $40 from napa... I've just learned to replace them.. The sensors are the same from 85-86 electronics (and all the later models as well ;))

+10 for the breaking apart :(

I've been told if you clamp it in a vise, and measure from the body to the terminal with a volt meter and hit the vice with a hammer, you should get a reading, like 1+v or something?
