After a quick rundown of available days for a Spring Cecil day Invasion not many weekends are left
So, we will be joing in with the Super Stallions of the Net club on
April 25th
They didn't get their day resevered quick enough and it ended up being on the same day as their Carlisle Event
With that said there is alot of extra tickets
They set a 150 car limit, and keep things rolling smoothly, (I got 8 passes last year without even trying)

Here's the info from their website

Superstallions Of The Net > SSOTN Nationals Official Information Page
The Spring SuperStallions Nationals will once again be held at Cecil County Dragway in Rising Sun, MD on April 25th, 2009. We will be running test and tune all day and our popular Grudge Run format in the afternoon! The racing will be intense as usual and feature some of the east coast's hottest Mustangs.

Price for the event is $55 by PayPal or $50 by check No Walk Ins Allowed unless prior arrangements were made in advance with John Paulson. If you are racing two or more vehicles or two drivers per vehicle, you will need to purchase a ticket for each car or driver.

There is a $10 spectator/crew fee required by Cecil County Dragway, racers are not required to pay the $10 fee, they are covered by the racing fee. All Spectator fees are to be paid at the gate on race day. Refreshment stands will be open all day.

Payment cutoff will be when car cutoff has been reached(150 Cars) or April 10th, 2009. No Exceptions.
Send Payment To:

I'll be out at Mason Dixon running the 63 Savoy wagon in the 422Allstars NSS series opener. Lee, I have not heard what he is doing yet. The old GLHS has not run since you last saw it last year. I guess it ready then. LOL
The Chrysler mustang has been sold. I don't think it says Chrysler any more but I would bet it will be there clicking of 12.00's like it was built for.

T

pre-registration yes
they send out the tickets then
you can buy at the door, 1st come 1st serve, usually $5 more
this year shouldn't be a problem, they scheduled the track rental the same day as ford carlisle
they set a 150 limit, usually they're filled by now but they've only got 63 people so far

well, pre-registration ended for cecil invasion day
and now they announce that door tickets are $65
not bad for a day at the track with only 85 people
but come-on, before it was only a $5 mark-up and you took your chances of getting a leftover ticket

back to back runs ALL DAY LONGGGGGG
usually the lanes are empty for the 1st hr
then you have to wait 3-4 cars back for your turn
then by 1:30-2:00 alot of people start leaving/stop running so the lanes are empty again
should be a great day

If this was a week later I'd have my turbo mini going! I don't have any slicks but it would have been fun anyway. The van wouldn't be inspected yet, but it wouldn't be the first time I drove an uninspected vehicle to cecil haha.

Typically the gates open at 8 and racing starts at 9am. Not sure if there's any special times for this event, I doubt it.

My car won't be there:( But I will.

I've been busy with work so, I towed the car to Brain so he could put the OBX/hybrid tranny he built for me in. I thought the clutch was the culprit and once he got it apart that was confirmed. Clutch is in 4 pieces. Rivets came out and destroyed the clutch, PP and flywheel. OBX tranny is just waiting for the clutch to come in to be put back together. TU sent me a new clutch and PP next day and should be there today but I doubt it comes early enough for Brian to get it all back together. Ohh well. I will say the customer service I've gotten from Chris so far has been very good.

See you guys in the am:thumb:

I just was over on the Super Stallions of the Net Forums (the event host). Here's what the organizer of today's even posted, which I thought was quite nice:

Just wanted to send a big thank you to everyone who came out to race, spectate, or crew today.
No major breakage holding up the lanes whatsoever and they were completely dead and I mean DEAD by a little after 1.
By the time the track closed at 4 there were maybe 6 cars still making passes. Not the best weather for timeslips, but an 80 degree sunny day in April is nothing anyone can complain about for sure.
It was great seeing everyone again!!

Johnny Lightning Performance - Johnny, Sue, Charlie, etc.. What has to be said... Legends in the game!! You know I love you guys!!

Evolution Performance - Nelson, Fred and the gang who continue to support and bring some of the baddest new stangs around out to our events.

Mid Atlantic Stangs - Foxxy and Co. always there in force even when they got a show the same night...

Click-Click Racing - SSOTN's bastard Spawn headed up by none other than Eric "head gasket killa" Berman

Trae's Crew - Some of the nicest people around who can never be found without a huge smile on their faces.

and TurboMopar.Com - They definitely brought the WTF Was That to the event with the baddest little bunch omni's, neon's, and bastard shelby's you've ever seen... Truly nice to have you guys come out with us..

And to everyone else.... Can't keep doing it without you guys...
Until the fall ya'll when we attack cecil county yet again... keep the shiny side up and a smile on your face..

Should help in my quest for a good launch;) Did a better description of my day here:http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23007&page=24 -post #474

I was a bit late off the line but it does look worse with Pat cutting red. I was more concerned with getting the revs up than the light because I knew I was beat! That car is running very well, especially for whats in it.

Traffic on the NJ turnpike sucked. I read some atricle about a serious accident southbound earlier in the day. Northbound probably got all jacked up from rubber neckers. I didn't get in until 12 and I am spent.

Great seeing you guys again.

and TurboMopar.Com - They definitely brought the WTF Was That to the event with the baddest little bunch omni's, neon's, and bastard shelby's you've ever seen... Truly nice to have you guys come out with us..

that's just plain awesome
Had a great time with everyone, pretty good turbo mopar turnout for a mustang event
lots of quick runs for the early heat
That's to the Marra's and Ruthie for the after hours hospitality
Good to see Joe W. again ( he keeps popping up in the darnest places)
Jon Jon made it out of hibernation too

Finally figured out my lack of 5,000+ rpm pulling
car likes the wastegate bolted on fully, go figure
only thing I can come up with is the 1st pull on the dyno was very rich
causing the adapter flange to glow cherry red
maybe it crushed the gasket and then when it contrated it left a gap or the nut loosened
either way it once again pulls to 7,000+

Glad you got that figured out Bruce, you were looking pretty sad there for a min.:D Thanks for letting me borrow your dual gauge pyro!

Funniest quote of the day, "you got something that will fit in my small narrow thingy?"

 I don't wanna butcher the name of who said that.........

umm.... post results for us that were not there!:eyebrows:

I think Caroll got most of the results with his videos. I was mid 11's, but turned some wicked mph's (best of 128.7) playing with nitrous, best pass was 11.42. Brian was low 10's at 142-143 and the car looks just fantastic. Low 10's is just the beginning for him. Mike Marra had some trouble with it breaking up, but had a few clean passes in the low 11's at 124ish. Dan Carson was there in his gorgeous GLH in the mid 11's, Kelly's Daytona had some trouble, but still made some passes. Jon G ran the snot out of his CSXT and it kept getting faster as the day went on. He ended up in the mid 14's on T-1 SMEC and injectors. Bruce was in the 11's, but was fighthing a spool/rev issue most of the day. Hoagie caught a screw in a slick early in the day. I'm not sure how many passes he got to make. I don't know where Mike's brother ended up in his sweet Neon R/T, but I know the car got hurt towards the middle of the day.

It was a really good time. You should try to make it down for one of these sometime Steve. You'd definitely enjoy it.

It was GREAT to see everyone again!! I had a blast beating the beejezus out of the car all day, tallying up 17 passes. The only fatality seems to be some injury to the trans... The automatic didn't like all the abuse all day long. Best of mid 14s with a stock 88 2.2 (with small T1 injectors) with a Garrett I had lying around set at 13psi, with some auto trans that's been bolted to the motor from a couple of years ago. The reunion has sparked my TD'ness back to life. The work on the T began today. Swapped injectors, and will be fabbing up a REAL BOV! I'm digging out stuff to swap the car back to a manual trans.

With the careful observation of Justin - it was brought to my attention that you CAN make a car run slower than stock. :)

My first run off the trailer was 11.21 @ 124 as shown in the vids. (THANKS CARROLL!) That was the in the exact condition as it had run on the Dyno last week.

It was soft out of the hole, and when motor came into it's power, the brand new slicks spun. I was happy with the run none-the-less as it was my best trap ever.

I decided to advance the cam back to where it's usually happiest, but instead, forgetting the way I had my pulley setup, I advanced it two teeth, which would explain why it was breaking up.

Anyway I had a great time and it was great to see all of you.
