Andy- After reading some of the other forum posts, I wouldn't expect there to be any money in the account to refund. According to one guy, Paypal cleaned out his account to partially refund the $1250 this guy stole. The rest will go to collections. My guess is so will yours.

I think the "odd bolts" are actually a set of 3/8" extensions or something. Based on the crap I've seen for sale and people have bought on eBay, I wouldn't be surprised if someone would buy that stuff for $15. No one really on this Forum but somebody might! :thumb:

Paypal will not refund the money if you got a package. Your credit card company will pull the money from paypal and then paypay will pull it from the seller. That is what my friend did when he got screwed on a turbo sale from someone on td.com.

When I hear from Andreas that it is O.K. I will ban the IP. He and shelbygurl are the only ones that have used it. The valve cover thread on TD sealed it was the girls boyfriend.

Until I get the o.k. banning the IP will only serve to eliminate a method of communication, although I don't think anyone is holding their breath.

ok got off the phone with paypal. actually they wont refund my money, but what i can do is file a claim, after paypal got back to me get on the phone with my credit card company and have them cancel the transaction.

paypal will get back to me on this and ask me why they can't get the money, warning me that they'll limit my account, but then i can get them the pics, links to the threads on here and this should clear everything up.

I called and asked for dave. The guy said that I had the wrong number in a laughing sort of way. I will call back to see what the word is on the real identity of this person.

ETA: The guy's name at that number is apparently richard. He knows what TDs are, but does not know of anyone who would have given his number out in conjuction with a parts sealing opporation. He thought the whole conversation was a little too funny for him to have been telling the truth unless we have had a ton of guys call him in the last couple on minutes. Even then, I don't buy the story.

Does any one know of an easy way to find a name from a number on the internet? I don't really know how we would look that up. I will get with some folks to try and find out though.

I will see if the guys have any other means for me to try.

ETA: I have used the reverse look up at www.whitepages.com and at verizon.com I still have another avenue or two to check out before giving up though. This guy was smart enough to use a cell number which clearly makes it a lot harder to track.

The name linked to that paypal address has to either be the person responsible, or directly linked to the person. That's what happened to my friend. He had his credit card company void the transaction and then called back paypal and they pulled the money from the seller. The seller now had a negative balance in their account and pay pal went after them.

The only thing Paypal cares about is whether you recieve a package with contents in it. If you order a turbo and get a slice of bacon in the package instead, it's all the same to them. I think credit card companies are a different story though. That's why I try to use my credit card when using paypall as much as possible, especially since it's through my bank.

Yeah it is BS, but they get away with it somehow. The original poster here said he tried to dispute it and they rejected it based on the fact that he recieved "something". Even though that was a C clamp and some other garbage instead of what was bought and paid for. Paypal gets their money either way, I wouldn't even venture to guess how many false fraud claims they get everyday. They'll do whatever makes the most business sense...where they lose two legitimate customers they keep the money of 10 con artists.

You should call the RCMP, or either the local Windsor PD. There was a similar situation on DodgeTalk, where a guy in Australia bought some parts from a guy in Ohio and never got them, he got in touch with the Akron PD and worked with them and PayPal. He also got several other guys in the US that had been ripped off by the same guy, to get signed statements and such.

Drop the Nicole name and Mark Pisani and see what happens. Seems he's an established member on that board, and more then a few people have been to his house. If its not the right person perhaps he'd have an explanation of who's using that email and lead you to the culprit. I'd definitally go into in a friendly manner rather than with guns drawn, once you determine you have the right person then you can drop the hammer.

Ok, I have been on the phone with her mother for the past 35 minutes, thanks to Garth who got me her number. She is very upset about this and she even visited the site while on the phone to see what has been happening. She is going to try and get in touch with her daughter to try and sort out some of this crap.

It IS Charles that has been doing most of this dealing under her name. She is a young girl that is easily swayed. Unfortunately, now she is going to be in trouble.

Hi my name is Garth I have talked to scott and I have talked to the parents I had no idea about this until this today Charles Atkins is known for this sort of thing he has screwed ppl over in the past and that is why we are no longer friends. I use to be involved with his current girlfriend and there was alot of problems and I was around for his last girlfriend and he is really good at screwing ppl over and some how really good at getting ppl to believe what he is saying. this poor girl is being ruined by him and she doesnt even wanna admit it I talked to her today and her parents as we were all in the same room and she keeps standing up for him. And as for Alexis she does not exist that was nicole, that is what she wnated to name her daughter if she ever had one, so she was using that name, she ios not a scammer at all she was raised better then that and her parents are greatly respected ppl here in windsor. We are now working on getting this sorted out, he is already wanted by the local police here for other things but he keeps manageing to dissapear, but don't worry it will all catch up to him in the end, he is gonna run and try to get away but he will get caught he always runs, I also have a restraining order against him I have had one now since november of 2005 I hope this all gets figured out and if anyone needs more info plz contact me and I will be glad to help.

He probably knew that if he just sent something, that there is less that paypal can do to go after him. Either that or another common scammer trick is to send you the wrong stuff, then tell you they sent you someone else's package by mistake, that way they can give you the run around for a while in hopes that you just give up.

Trying to pay my own way through school, and all the other expenses that comes along with it was rough. I gotta say though, she knew what she was doing. She knew that it was wrong, but she took advantage us. If she needed help, she could have said so. She didn't have to scam us. I'm upset that she misrepresented herself, lied, and took advantage of us. Look how everyone on this board pitched in for shipping. Look how much support Pooky has received. I have been....never ripped anybody off though. No matter how bad things have been for me (and they have been pretty bad) I have always stuck to my principals. I think the answer may lay in upbringing. Not that I am trying to slander her parents... they are the ones who helped make this right, but I believe most peoples problems are directly related to parenting.

Hey how are ya? I'm not doing to good here. I have run into a bit of a predicament here. She does not have my SRT Cooler and now I am out $150. This is not what I had in mind. I threatened her to get the Valve Cover, but now I am out $150.

I have an offer for you. I have someone interested in this VC. He is willing to pay $120 Can. I will send you a Money Order for $75 u.s. This way you get some of your money, and I get some of mine. This is the only solution I have as I don't want to be screwed either.

The poor bastard here in Ontario is out $160 and will never see it.

The link below is a thread containg all the info for the scam as it unfolded. A person in Austria originally bought an auto part from a scammer in your area. Another resident in your area stepped in as a white knight and supposedly got the part and members of the forum sent money to ship it to the Austrian member. Then the white knight changed the playing rules and wants to keep the money and sell the original part for 1/2 the true value.
You might also discover that the white knight seems to be buying parts from a known car thief and selling them acrooss the border.

IF you see some merit in resolving this situation, I think a fair compromise would be that "1quik4" deliver the valve cover to YOU along with the money Turbomopar members sent him to ship it to the original victim.

A phone call was made to the police with no action taken.

Your T-shirt was not held ransom because of this and will be shipped out per the fact that you one and payed for it. It was my fault as I forgot to tell Ken. However there are going to be repercussions to this.
