I have searched and read the 2.4 engine swap bible. I am cosidering using the srt 4 engine and trans in my 88 Daytona. I am curious about what cv's would be used in this combination. This does not seem to be addressed. Is the T850 the same as the 350 as far as cv's??? Yes I could go with a 568 but would like to try this combo first. Each has its obvious problems.

The extra 100lbs of the T850 makes me shy away...

I think I would go with the Getrag 288 from the 5 speed PTs before the T850.

I also think the splines on the 288 are a closer match.

The inner C/V's use a much larger spline. It is the same as the new 6speed automatic used in current production. I purchased ones for a new minivan with a 6speed and am having them shortened to fit my Spirit. The SRT4 axles are much more expensive than the minivan axles. My local axle rebuilder told me his listing for the inner C/V is the same for both. The cost of two new axles for a minivan and having them shortened is cheaper than buying unknown used axles and having them shortened.

If you are thinking equal length there are a number of intermediate shafts available for the minivan, Pacifica, Journey, etc. All have different brackets. I just bought one for a 3.5L Journey, something like $65 bucks.

A568 is proven, but parts are getting hard to find. So, I'm going T850.

568 parts are a concern. Plus the t850 has limited slip already. How did you mount the hydraulic clutch?

I have not built anything yet. The parts have just been gathered. Check out here (http://www.turbododge.com/forums/f11/f48/183294-2-4l-16v-turbo-omni-2.html). Page 2 has very nice pics. CNC products (http://cncbrakes.com/)is who makes these parts which are not all that expensive.
