Just got back from the track. I keep beatin' my old records every week. This thing is haulin' a$$ now!

http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/photopost/data/567/QCRBURNOUTGOOD_.jpg

New best:
2.027
5.795
8.989
76.64 mph
11.720
14.224
92.28 mph

Now, my old best was 14.35 at 95.3mph. The reason in the mph difference. Well there's a few theories behind this. The track, about 800' down it goes uphill. OR my fuel curves (stock computer) aren't supporting 16psi.

I went out in M&H 23"/7.5"/15" slicks, open downpipe, 7 gallons of 94, 3.21 gallons of 110 octane, 16psi boost, 40psi rear tires, and anywhere between 17-12psi in the front tires.

My next pass after my best looked like this:
My Spirit..........My older bro driving our infamous Hemi Charger
.762................ .494
1.968 :cheer2:....2.079
5.786.................5.888
9.017.................9.011
75.49 mph.........78.41 mph
11.774..............11.649
14.302..............14.003
91.59 mph.........99.68 mph

Okay since my first best pass I turned the boost up a little more, dropped the tire pressure from 15psi to 12psi. So the tires SHOULD hook up better; trust me they did! God 1.9 shorties slam yeh back in your seat! So why did I slow down a tenth when I should've gained 2/10?

Theoretically my car should be 13.8's. Why? Look: (this is why I included the Charger's best time of today) I had hm by 1/10, kept pulling away from him until the 1/8 mile where he caught me and proceeded to pull away. Being 1/10 out of the whole on him, I SHOULD have him by 2/10. Meaning 14.003 - .2 = 13.803.

I'm thinking my fuel curve isn't supporting 16psi of boost, the race gas is just helping it slow down a little. I run it fine on street gas (94) with no detonation, I have real clean plugs. So tomorrow we'll by slapping in a FWD Performance Stage 3 computer. See what that does. If not we'll slap in +20's and an AFPR.

Last year I had many problems at the top end, past the 1/8 mile. I solved them by swapping in a 255 l/hr pump and a brand new torque converter (both our guesses of what went wrong).

Whew, sorry so long, lots of information to process.

I'll post a few videos later. :eyebrows:

Good work man:thumb:
yours times are nearly identical to mine on same amount of boost.
2.15 60ft
14.28 @ 94mph

What injectors are you running? That spirit is a 2.5 right

STOCK! ;)

Simon, I'll have to check that out. I did quite a good burnout on run #3 (my 1.9 s/t). 2nd gear throttling it up and down from 4-6 grand.

put some plus 20s in it and see what that does to help you out on the top side.

Your 60' s are terrible for 23" M&H. You should be in the low 1.9 OR LOWER range. She's either not building the boost on the line or you are over revving it on the brakes. You drop that 60" and you will have it.

Dave, I just noticed, your doing the dreaded one wheel burnout. Stop doing them with slicks or your diff will look like mine, and you will fill your trans with metal flakes. I had to remove my VB and clean it out and change BOTH my filters.. Either just do a quick dry hop or none at all. Please listen to me.

He's cutting 2.0's and 1.9's, not bad for one wheel burnouts, :banghead:

Eeeek... should I just try and plant it deep in the water box so to get both tires spinning?

Damnit, I don't have $450 for an OBX.

Perhaps I'll try rolling to the line. I've heard you can still cut 1.9's with them cold. Maybe I'll paint some VHT on 'em. ;)

Anyways, I'm putting the trans. in tomorrow, going racing next Sunday (the 30th) at Norwalk. That will be the 13 second run. I'll be satisfied for the rest of the year I swear! :D I'll probally quit going to the track so much after that. It is my DD and it needs to last until Winter.
