I've been looking to build my next motor for my next project. At first I wanted to go TIII, but the more I look I'm thinking hybrid. Now I am undecided what to do.

I want to know a few things first before I start collecting parts for either hybrid or TIII:

1.Which is more cost effective overall?

2.Which will make more power easily?

3.Which will be an easier swap all together?

4.Why should I go one way or the other?

Tiii is getting hard to find...when you do find them they are pricey
Hybrid is cheap with lots of aftermarket
Tiii should be mostly direct bolt up
Hybrid takes at least some hole punching and pluging
either way you can get mad power smp~~~> tiii bsx~~~>hybrid both insanely fast
I am going hybrid, already collecting parts even consitering neon slugs in my 2.2 block
go tiii is you are a purist go hybrid if you like the novelty!

You need a Masi head option :) T3 is gonna be the easiest. Even thought parts might be expensive up front the Hybrid might nickle and dime you to death to get it running with the custom parts it requires.

Just go with a complete 2.4 turbo.

+1 Probobly the cheapest to attain/build, but if the choice is tIII or hybrid I say hybrid because of availability of parts current and future.

2.4 or hybrid is the cheaper. For a TIII, you need to round up a head, cams, rocker arms, shafts, lifters, manifolds, all the timing gear pulley's, power steering pump bracket, accessory brackets, pulley's, misc items. If you don't get a complete engine, it will nickel and dime you to death or cost $1000's.

Well the only reason that I didn't include the 2.4 motor is because I cant weld/fabricate the motor mounts (am I correct that you need to fabricate motor mounts?).

As for masi powered, I'd rather not have to hunt down a head.

Is there any way I can add an other category to the poll?

Hybrids not that bad. I only have about 600 in my whole setup and just need cam gears now to complete my engine. Everything else is acquired and installed. I vote hybrid all the way Silent Jim!

I forgot to mention, if your running a/c on a hybrid, it would require some mods and thats why I went TIII.

Jim, go here.

Thats my build thread, I'll be adding some recent pictures. I have the head on and bolted down, cams and stuff in, drain lines and oil feed lines run, turbo on and ready to go, just need cam gears and have an intake manifold made up, and she'll be ready to stuff in the engine bay, fab up the exhaust and see if everything clears. If you want, PM me and I can take any pics and give you any info you need. This head may be for sale, as I have plans for another one:evil: so if you want an already modded head, this would be it :thumb:
