How about a N/A 2.4 swap in a L body. I watched a neon with a mild built 2.4 pull mid 7's in the 1/8. I have a 87 shelby charger and have dibs on a 2.4.I could fab my A-555 up to it and get in the car.I just wonder what I would need to do for electronics. Could I just pull a harness from a 5 speed neon and then a custom cal for a neon? The strats with 5 speeds had 2.0L as far as I have seen.Or would it just be better to go with a 413 bolted to it? My idea is just having a N/A 2.4 for a little street car.I know a all motor could produce enough power to put me in the mid to lower 8's in the 1/8th mile.So has anyone went All motor yet with a TD? Just trying to find a combo so as not to have to worry about burning pistons and breaking down every other week.

neon guys use their electronics(2.0) with a 2.4 swap their are a couple things that you have to switch like the injectors(the order in the harness)
but they work
either way it is going to be the cave man way to do it but it works
look at this forum http://forums.neons.org/viewforum.php?f=46&sid=e8665aedcd8b6d323c45d3d6b02d4f4f
if you havent already

I remember reading a little bit about the injectors when my buddy had a ACR and wanted a 2.4 swap. I know some people will say why do this when your T2 already has more power? I think it would be more dependable and with a some number 12 or 16 cams and some other goodies it would be pretty dang quick. I would not have to worry about the turbo melting the pistons. I might still go with a 16v head swap, but this N/A swap is different and I could have my own little corner of being different.:eyebrows: :eyebrows:
Only problem is you don't have a lot of resources to help you along.

You might want to check out megasquirt, It will run better than the 2.4 with the 2.0 comp. http://www.megasquirt.info/ Megasquirt makes the 2.4 happy.:eyebrows: http://www.msefi.com/viewtopic.php?t=4389

I think a 2.4 in an l-body with the megasquirt would be the way to go. I also think with some port work and the right tune it would be a competitive all-motor car at least at some local races.
