Got an engine from the yard
'99 2.4 stratus engine :eyebrows:
Had a pretty stout looking header on it
anybody know what this is?, anybody cut one up into a turbo header yet ? pics?
should I sell it and buy something different? I rather start with this before an OBX, but better then a 2.4mexican manifold?

That would make an awesome turbo header, its already equal length, :eyebrows:

that's what I'm hoping, cut down the collector and put a turbo flange
pretty long though, gotta mock it back up on the engine stand and see how far down the turbo will hang

ON a van, that would be sweet, tons of room for it too hang, :p

no its not... the outer 2 runners are longer than the inner 2 :confused2:

Nice tubes, but not equal.

My bad, but still nice, :thumb:

Is it possible it's aftermarket? Is it mild steel? If it is, I don't think Chrysler would put a mild steel tubular exhaust manifold on a production car.

It could be a Mexican one, lol.

Closer inspection, it really looks aftermarket, AFAIK, no stock Mopar car has an exhaust flange like that.

The stock 99 stratus manifold is cast iron. This is probably an aftermarket header, looks pretty long so might hit the firewall.

thanks, pretty bad when a guy from across the pond can identify our parts :o
2 weird things though, no tag or markings on in
This is really really heavy mild steel tubing not thinner stainless (all OBX stuff is "stainless")
I googled stratus 2.4 header and came up with OBX,K2,HPR header and all look exactly the same except, stainless , cromeplated or nametags
K2 even says modeled after the DC Stlye header
So some poor guy made one and now everyone is duplicating it for $100 in cheap crap

Oh well, learned something new today

I think the OBX ebay headers were a knock off of a much nicer better build header. That one is probably the nicer one, not the cheap chinese OBX unit.

Either way, nice score!
