Is the ground strap hole that is nearly symmetric to the oil galley hole on the driver side (ground strap hole being on the passenger side just behind cam gear above exhaust manifold) exposed to the lifter valley? I have a pretty good leak and it has to be coming from this area as evidenced by the drops on the axle (maybe cam seal).

If you mean this one then no it is just a blind hole. I think it is for a bracket that holds a power steering line. In fact I don't think any of the holes on the back lead anywhere.

That's the one...the other two on the left side have galley plugs in them (obviously), so I guess all but the top left one (on the SRT) that are threaded have bottoms.

What about the two tiny threaded holes behind the cam gears?

ever heard of oil leaking out the rear of the HG with no other issues? car runs fine, no coolant in oil, and no smoke, but a good bit of oil leaks down the back of the block

edit: compression is 180 across the board, oil definately seems to be oozing from the back of the HG but the pressure is money and very little oil seems to be lost. The leak seems to be originating near a drain back.

got under it with it running...oil seems to be coming out of the exhaust cam seal which is indeed boogered and is running down both directions on the HG and dropping off the ends saturating the rear trans mount and oil filter adapter
