My 1989 Caravan front seats have started ripping.

I was wondering which Mopar seats would interchange with the current seats.

I'd like to get seats as new as possibe.

If I can't get a decent pair I guess I'll just get a seat cover in decent shape to use as a pattern and sew up some new covers.

Your best bet would be another chrysler van. Seats from 84 - 95 should bolt right in because as far as I know the floors are the same. All of the car seats are different. If you dont mind modifying your seat tracks you can mount just about anything. I have 4 sunfire buckets in my shadow.

+2, van seats are a breed of their own. I am putting some Recaro's in mine soon, from a Jetta GTX, :thumb:

If you swap rails, K or E seats fit in the 1st gen vans.

I put some 98 seats in my daughters 89. They are really nice and
went in with not much trouble. The yards also don't seem to price
them high as not many want them.

do any of the second gen seats have a seperate headrest on them? Or 3rd gen? Do you just swap the adjusters?

My 89 Voyager had Quad seats from a 1994 Town & Conrty in it. They all latched into place, however I had to modify the seat belts on the second row captians chairs to make them work. But it was probably the best upgrade I did on the van!

Have any before and after pics? That sounds like a nice upgrade

Yeah, 1st and 2nd gen van seats interchange both ways. 3rd gen though... I think it can share seats with the 4th gen van but that's it.

It was only done for a few years, around 89/90, in Jetta's and maybe Golf's. You got a full Recaro interior. Not sure if its a Canadian thing only.

i think the GTX is canadian then cause i was looking at a 89 GLI around 10 years ago and it had a full recaro interior. car was hit at some point and the alignment was off so i didnt buy it. that 16v motor screamed though. :)

I don't really have any good pictures of the seats in the van, however you can clearly see them through the non tinted windows in a couple of pics....

The second two pictures are after a good cut polish and waxing to get it ready for a car show. The pictures just make it look better than it really is. Simon, I agree, it does sit too high....My current van will have coilovers in it eventually, they are sitting right beside me.
