The gap that appears when you shut the door. Between the trim panel and the rest of the interior trim. Any ideas of how to make it consistent or less noticeable ? Its more apparent on cars with very different exterior to interior colors. red outside-black inside for example

Heres an example of what I'm talking about, circled in red

the fit and finish of the panels is what it is. black out the inner door frame if you want to hide the gap.

paint it the same color as the door panels.

I've been looking around and think some simple edging trim could be used to make the gap more consistent and if applied carefully would also extend far enough over to the edge where the weatherstripping actually contacts the door shell and eliminate any color line standout.
