I figured this place has been too sleepy so I'll try and wake it up a bit.

My car has been sitting for a few weeks but with a break in the weather I took it out for a drive. Ran around for about 10min, parked it for about 30min, restarted it and I was greeted with a puff of smoke. It looked white, possibly with a hint of blue in it. Since my windows were closed I couldn't detect any type of odor. It didn't smoke while running. But it did it again the next time I started it up. Then it didn't do it anymore.

Any ideas what would've caused those two puffs from my "magic dragon"?

If its cold outside, its most likely just water etc in the exhaust. If your levels are ok, I wouldn't worry about it. 10 mins isn't much of a warm up.

possibly the turbo. mine would smoke only at idle and it didn't have any shaft play either. every time i started driving the smoking would stop completely, but then at a stoplight it would smoke again.

This wasn't at idle. This was just at startup. No smoke at idle or while driving or while accelerating.

I took it out one more time after that, starting it a few times, but it didn't happen again...

possibly a leaky valve seal letting the oil seep down while off and causing a puff on startup.

All systems normal so far. Car has been running great and hasn't smoked again since that day...
