Piston Rings!!

Anyone ever heard of having to put a crimp on the oil ring in a sealed power ring set. It showed an illustration in the set I have and also said to butt or lock the two colored areas together which on my ring happened to be in an area where there was no opening to begin with. It looked like it had been crimped so lets just say when I tried it the thing snapped.. No good!.. now I gotta order another 30 dollar set for one piston. Anyone know anything about these? they are the SS-50 oil ring set.

ahh...I remember having to do something with the colors on the Oil rings for the Sealed Power ones...didn't have a problem though....Just have to be patient and careful I guess...sucks about buying another set :(
