HI All, I figure I will ask for the fun of it. I have an 89 SHO that keeps seting code 19. It pertains to the cylinder ID circuit. Basically I have had 2 different shops tell me that the cam sensor, the dis module, and computer, and wiring are all fine. It's driving me nuts, cause today instead of running fine with the light on, it started to get ruff and miss and drop a cylinder. Anyone know much about fords?

water pump leaking on the crank sensor? thats a common one and it can be intermittent.
cam sensor?
you have any spare parts around to swap in to test?

I have heard that too, the shop I have taken the car to, the owner had a sho, and said it didn't act like a crank sensor to him. BUt I may have them replace it. The cam sensor is new, and the dis module was swapped out with a spare, told the same thing still happens. I even tracked down a computer, thinking it is an internal fault, same thing with the spare computer. All the wiring and grounds were checked. Nothing wrong could be found. I was even refered to an auto electric shop, by the first shop, they could not find anything wrong, either. But the check engine light still comes on everytime I drive it, and I get the same code 19. Car would run fine with it until yesterday.

well if you did the cam and everything else, might wanna try the crank sensor i guess.
i used to have a maroon 91 with a quaife, konis, a shoshop y pipe and cats, homemade intake maf adapter with big cone, and different mufflers. fun car. $$$$ when the sho specific stuff breaks though.

I like the 91, was yours a sho plus by any chance? I always liked the electric red color on those, mine is titanium. I have the high flow y pipes and full exhaust on it, sounds great. It also has subframe connectors, and front and rear strut tower bars. Other wise it pretty much stock, although it looks like it has lowering springs, but I am not sure. Yes the parts are pricey.

Make sure the grounds are good and all hook up. I had one that had been at a shop for 6 months and no one could figure it out. I put the upper end back together and it fired right up. The ground near the module was missing and it wouldn't start. Just an idea to consider.

Thanks, I will mention it. I do know that both shops have spent alot of timing checking wiring and grounds. At this point, I'm having the crank sensor replaced first, and will go on from there. The dis was swapped already, and isn't the problem. I'm also told the coil pack can cause odd things to happen. I'll keep you updated. It's just been a wicked time lately with bad car luck.

as far as I know, the unique fiberglas bulge hood, blacked out trim on the b&c pillars, trunk spoiler, unique taillights, and the badge on the fender that said 24v DOHC. If it was a white car, it got white rims.
