I am posting these for Derek (GLHS502).

He is running an NA 2.4 w/ one of my distributor adapters and the stock SMEC.

Here is the description he sent with the pictures. I am sure he can update us on where he is now.

I am a long way from finishing, your parts are working
great!!

I still have some rerouting of some wires and hoses. It will start
right up and idle and rev all day.

I'm in the process of installing a radiator and ac condensor from a 98
or 99 Status. I had to do go back and get a rad fan assy from a V6
Status. It has 2 fans 1 pancake fan motor and 1 long fan motor. If I had
known I would have done some fan motor swapping out in the yard..

Also you can see the minivan front mount and the turbo dodge alt with a neon
pulley. I'm using a Neon pass side mount turned upside down.

My thread was more specific to the SRT4 block and the starter.

Derek deserves his own thread. ;)

My STR-4 turbo parts arrived yesterday and I am waiting UPS to deliver a Mexican 2.4 exh manifold...not sure which way to go now. I have a spare T2 Garrett. either way after Christmas it will have boost.

It cranks and runs fine. Only at WOT the electronis do not know what to do without some boost. Runs almost as fast as the old T1 engine and gets over 30 MPG!! The T1 only got about 23 MPG. Just as good as my Neon and looks way better. I'll get some more pix when I start playing with the turbo setup.

FYI--Spark plugs---the car had a slight miss all the time, I replaced the fuel injectors and about everything else I could think of. I could pull the spark plug and see it firing real good. The plugs in it were Champion RC12YC5,,I replaced them with RC9YC4. What a difference! The miss is gone, plus I was able to readjust my timing back to 12. Before I could only with 10 degrees timing without it pinging..

UPDATE--the SRT4 turbo project starts this week, I was waiting on some banjo bolts from the dealer to use the factory oil/water lines. The bolts/seals arrived yesterday...The miss has returned so I will clear this issue up first. Also I will finish the AC lines and I might go with a Neon DOHC intake to save some room, the Stratus intake takes up alot of room between the engine and the radiator.

UPDATE-the Daytona now has AC!! The compressor and condensor are from a Stratus. I had to replace the AC evap core, it was leaking, and I replaced the heater core while I had the dash out. Anyway I ended up using the Neon DOHC intake and the SRT-4 turbofold. Worked out great. I now have a few thousand miles on the engine and it runs great. Gets 28-32 MPG on plain 87 octane gas. I am only running about 10lbs of boost right now. I was only getting about 23-24 mpg with the old 2.5 turbo/auto setup. With a 3:50 diff in the 520 tranny and the tall 16" tires it cruises at 75-85MPH on the interstate. I am daily driving (100 round trip) it right now.
