Not all T-II cars.... only the '89 CSX got the common block T-II from what i am remembering... all other whittier Shelby cars got the T-I motors and LW rods.

Forget what weight the rod is.... look at the part #

Im searching for some 89 TII rods and found this part # 4323958 from a seller, is this the .699 grams rods, making it the beefy one (7mm instead of the 5MM).

These are not the same rods.... are are not quite as "beefy" around the cap area. Plus, they are pressed pin. Much better than the LW rods, if that's what your helping him with.

Good point on the pressed vs. floating pin... they are similar weight tho?

Probably similar in weight... but I'd never go by the weight to judge a rod by. If you look at the cap area... there are some "thin" sections .... I think they are highlighted on www.thedodgegarage.com in the engine section pertaining to rod differences.

I had a set in my hand last week, FWIW. A local circle track "ministock" engine came into our shop for the 1st time. I didn't know it.... but I cheated up this head for the original owner 4 seasons ago. New owner ran the car 15 races this season, and won 7! (pretty good for a 2.2 )

Anyhow.. the shop owner was ribbing me of this engine's rods when I noticed they were LW rods used all along! He changed his tune when I showed him my T-II rods I had in my box, and now he definately wants to upgrade. The car owner does, as well. Looking into K1 or Eagles. We are switching over rotating assemblies into another block as the bellhousing broke on the original engine. The donor block was an early 2.2 T-I with these rods you speak of. Long story... I know... I just felt like typing a bit;) But, I compared the two (early T-I vs T-II) and I can see the T-II caps are more better-er:D
