When I bought the truck, I noticed the front brakes would grab easy. Thought the back needed adjusted/fixed so I pulled the drums, everything looked OK. Adjusted when re-installed and tested on jackstands. Definitely has rear brakes.

Since then I have replaced the front pads and rotors.

Few weeks ago I was under the truck and noticed the wire going to the prop valve just hanging. Plugged it in and now my brake light stays on all the time.

No biggy, didn't notice any difference.

Now, yesterday, we got our first sprinkling of snow. About an inch that melted away, but I was out and about early morning and I think there is definitely something wrong.

Anytime I tried to brake (sub 25 mph speeds) the front locks up. The truck doesn't really want to stop too well. Even slow turns on slick roads are a nightmare.

Could the prop valve be stuck? I've NEVER had to replace a prop valve before. I can just imagine the condition of the brake lines. :(

Definately its stuck, hence the light being on and the reason why you can't get the backs to work. Presoak the lines for a few days and get a small propane torch to heat up the fittings also. I saw this trick again in Hot Rod so maybe give it a try-heat up the lines then drip candle wax onto them, let it cool and see what happens, :o

Exactly how hot can you get them before you worry about the fluid inside?

Acy/ox warms things up nicely!

Get it too hot and you'll blow the rubber brk. hoses off, I've done that more than once. Even with the bleeders open.:yuck: You might try smacking it with a hammer to unstick it.

I'll definitely give it a few good smacks and see what happens. I would imagine it will just stick again if it shifts, right?

And, I guess I'll start soaking it in PB. Maybe by the end of the holiday weekend I can get it loose.

Now, if I could only find a replacement. None of the online stores seem to list one. :(
