So after thirteen years I finally tore my air box rubber grommets. I have to remove my air box to time my van and they tore. I was tired of having to be careful when removing the box so I fixed it. I used 10mm X 1.5 bolts, nuts and wing nuts from ACE. the wing nuts fit in the holes of the bracket perfectly.

That is a good idea! Those rubber grommets are a pain. Thanks for sharing.

Just an update. The rubber grommets that I talked about replacing with the wing nuts and bolts, are still available. I just did an K&N cold air intake install for a customer on a newer Dodge Ram with a 5.7 Hemi. The plastic air intake that bolts to the engine in front of the throttle body and the air box that houses the air filter has to be removed and I noticed they use the same grommets. Just wanted to let everyone know if you wanted to keep the original look.
