Can 8v cam keys be used on the TIII? Want to be sure because I recently bought a set of cams and the keys weren't included.

They do to a point, there isn't a much meat going into the cam using the 8 valve ones, the TIII are a half moon, the 8 valve are a 1/4 moon, lol.

Like SimonKelly said they will fit, but they're not the same. I did run a 4degree offset key (8V key) on the exhaust cam for a few thousand miles with no ill effects. Running the 8V keys is scary enough there is so much less key contact than with the proper 16V key, but the offset keys look weak right out of the package! I was sure it was going to strip out:eek: But it never did.

Ahh not what I wanted to hear...I once ruined a roller cam in my old Shadow ES because I hadn't properly torqued the cam sprocket bolt and it worked loose and turned the slot to fudge, but the key survived without a scratch(!). I would hate to have that happen on a TIII cam. I'll post a wanted ad here and see if the person I bought them from still has them. Thanks guys.
